Sisense BI Portal Implementation

At Kabam Games, the challenge of integrating product data was exacerbated by distinct data systems for each product, leading to inconsistent database schemas and data dictionaries. This fragmentation resulted in varying methods for calculating key performance indicators (KPIs) across different games, causing difficulties in consolidating information and delivering consistent reports to leadership. Recognizing the need for a unified approach to data management and reporting, Sven was tasked with leading the development of a centralized reporting platform to standardize performance measures and present a total portfolio view of performance.

Sven spearheaded the project by designing a semantic layer that would serve as the backbone for uniform data interpretation and reporting and collaborating with data engineering on its creation. Selecting Sisense for its strength in embedded analytics, Sven was instrumental in tailoring the platform to meet Kabam’s specific needs. He meticulously designed the dashboards and visual layouts based on the customer journey framework, thereby enhancing the accessibility and relevance of the data presented. Furthermore, Sven developed comprehensive documentation to empower power-users within the organization to conduct their independent queries, thereby fostering a data-driven culture.

The new reporting platform has standardized total company sales and product performance metrics, leading to significant time savings. The FP&A team now saves 80 hours each month (one half staff month) productivity improvement. Additionally, the time required to prepare a product performance review has been slashed by 85%, from four hours to just 30 minutes.
